Sugar-Free Apple Sauce
Now, I know what you’re thinking - apples are already pretty high in sugar, so why would we put MORE in?
Well, according to my great grandmother’s recipe (she legit made the best apple sauce that ever existed), it was a necessary part. But so was a lot of lemon juice.
So, I’ve kept the lemon juice (that was my favourite part of it!), but taken out the sugar - and added a bit of my own flare.
If you have a few apples hanging around the house, or want something warming to pop on top of you overnight oats, this is thing for you!
Easy Apple Sauce
2-3 apples roughly chopped into about ½ inch cubes
1 tbsp. Cinnamon
1 tbsp. Coconut oil
½ tsp. nutmeg
Put it all in a small pot, and cook until the consistency you like! You can even use a hand blender to get it a little more like the store bought stuff - personally I like the chunks!
